What it is
GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a hexapeptide and one of the first-generation growth hormone-releasing peptides. It stimulates GH release through the ghrelin/GHS-R1a receptor and also weakly stimulates prolactin, cortisol, and aldosterone. It was briefly investigated as a diagnostic test for GH deficiency.
What the evidence shows
GHRP-2 reliably raises GH in human pharmacology studies and was evaluated as a GH stimulation test. However, no large RCT has shown clinically meaningful benefits for body composition, performance, or aging. Its development as a therapeutic agent did not progress to approval.
Risks & unknowns
Acute effects can include flushing, hunger, dizziness, and injection-site reactions. Chronic use raises GH/IGF-1 with theoretical risks of insulin resistance, fluid retention, and proliferative effects. Long-term safety data are absent, and gray-market purity is unreliable.
Legal / regulatory status
GHRP-2 is not FDA-approved. It is prohibited in sport by WADA under S2. It is not legal to market for human use.
